I know its obvi­ous, but a lot of peo­ple for­get (or nev­er learn) the basics. Myself includ­ed.
Peo­ple aren’t going to like you if you don’t like your­self.
Once you have that sort­ed, and I’m not sug­gest­ing that its easy to do.
If you want some­one to take an inter­est in you, take an inter­est in them, get him or her to tell you about them­self, peo­ple are ego­tis­ti­cal so use it to your advan­tage. Also gives you a chance to find out if you real­ly are inter­est­ed in them or not.
