Hand writing a hard drive partition table…

Some people will never know just what it feels like to much around in the very bits and bytes of a computer, with a skillful (or sometime lucky) choice of keystrokes a computer that was just minutes before nothing more than a large and expensive paperweight suddenly boots and goes on working in ways the original designers never dreamed.
So long as I don’t stop long enough to actually think “why do I want to turn my old Mac LC630 into an FTP server anyway?” I’ll be fine.

It’s a sobering experience when you do create an expensive paperweight. This is usually followed by a large amount of swearing!
