Finally got around to picking up a copy of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” and wouldn’t you know it, finding it a really enjoable read.

It is, isn’t it? Surprisingly so. I find it deeply, deeply sarcastic. Which obviously, I like.
Yeah, I’ve seen the recent BBC production (a number of times actually) and love the character of Mr Bennet, his sarcasm and lack of patience for dim wit are charming.
I find it hard to bring myself to watch an adaption of ‘Pride and Prejudice’. I’ve seen the movie ‘Persuasion’, but I haven’t read that. I’ve seen ‘Clueless’ and plan on reading ‘Emma’. I’ve seen ‘Bridget Jones’… But ‘Pride and Prejudice’ is so literary, I think its quality, for me, would be lost. The opening two chapters are surely the finest ever written.
