If your on time then your late!

Of all the bull­shit you hear in the work place, com­ments like ‘If your on time then your late’ real­ly piss me off.
For a start, it does­n’t make any sense, and being delib­er­ate­ly non­sen­si­cal might well be fun­ny when grand­dad says it, it does not auto­mat­i­cal­ly mean that the com­ment is a wit­ty, and insight­ful gem of wis­dom.
For sec­onds, I loth this sort of preach­i­ness, rather than cre­ate a work envi­ron­ment that will encour­age the employ­ees to be ear­ly, the boss sim­ple says some­thing ‘pithy’ like this and thinks that that’ll moti­vate every­one.
Lead by action, by inno­va­tion, by morales, by stan­dards, and all else will fol­low.
