Why Sorddinham?

My many fans have many questions. Why wont you return my phone calls? But why can’t I use vegimite as a fabric softener? Will Episode 2 be better or is the world doomed to suffer further?
And most pressing of all: Why Sorddinham?
There isn’t an answer, but the more I use it the more I feel it suits. Some people suggested that it had negative conitations, but I don’t really care, perhaps to a small degree I think thats good.
Anyway, the name is here to stay, I know that for sure.

More bloody change

Well, having had a good dig through MovableType’s template system I’m now very glad I changed over. Sure theres a bunch of features I’ll probably never use (such as ’email to a friend’), but there is also a lot of neat stuff I’ll be sneaking in as time goes on.
And then there is the ever changing layout. At least it now feels like a cross between the old and the new. The whole site is due for an overhaul, but first I’ve got to nail down the page, everything else will flow on from that.

File names

Actually, now that I’ve had a nights sleep I’ve figured out how to get MovableType to use the file names that I want so there will be no cahgne to the old links. There will be no webrot and no cobwebing going on here… at least not today.
Hmm, too many of the recent entries have been blogs about this blog… which is getting a bit wierd…

Something New

Well, as you should have noticed, I’m now running my blog through MovableType. All of my old content has been moved over, and for people who care about such stuff there has been only the slightest change in the names. Previously the individual entry files were zero-padded to 8 characters, now it’s only 6, but otherwise it should be the same number. So what once was 00000132.html is now 000132.html, get it?
Anyway, for a while the old fiels are still in place, and I’ll probably replace them with autoforwards when I feel like making 164 html files.
As you can see I’m still settling in here, haven’t got to the layout or anything much yet, but this default layout is nice enough to be able to start using it.

New blog for what?

Well, as you all know I only started the whole blog thing to play with the software, and now there is new software so I’m playing with that.
Don’t worry, I am actually working on some new stories and so on that will be published here just as soon as their fit for print.
I’ve been a tad busy over the past two week. Real life things have been getting in the way, setteling into a new study routine and sorting out my finacial situation.
I’ll fill you in once I’ve got this new system up and running.

Regeneration in progress, please hold

After a bit of experimenting with the new blog software I’ve decided to close this original blog down. Commenting has been dissabled, and aside from a few informational post like this one nothing more will be posted here.
All the material of this blog will be rolled over into the new one, and for a while these pages will stay so that inbound links wont break just yet, but I do plan to completely remove the old files once I’m happy with everything.
So the permalinks will die with the change, oh well.

TWRIABP (Ep: 53)

In todays episode of “The Web Really Is A Bizarre Place” we find that a Google search for the phrase “Dave Golding” turns up The Blog of Craneligh in second place… and Dave’s own home page is nowhere to be seen, also we learn that Janet and Sam have more going on than even they know about, and Spooky the Dog saves the day (again).
Roll credits.
